To Stress or Not to Stress: Make a Choice

In reading Emily Nagoski's book Come As You Are, her chapter on stress and how it affects sexual readiness and performance made me think about the nature of stress and where it comes from. We all know that both "eustress" and "distress" exists but what I found interesting is that it seems to be mostly mental. I thought on how there are rich people (John D. Rockefeller, to name a major example) who have worried themselves almost to death about how to keep and expand their empire, as well as the image of the average poor person, also worrying themselves to death on whether they'll be able to eat. There are also many examples of poor people who don't worry whatsoever, in spite of limited means. They do the best they can, earn as much as they can, plan for whatever they can and let the chips fall where they may. Maybe, just maybe, it makes sense to choose happiness and do our absolute best in maintaining our mind.
