Ever look at a small set and think "this is easy, it's worth doing" versus seeing a larger set (3 or more girls) and talk yourself out of it because it seems to be harder? This discussion here should change your mind on that. There are a good many guys who prefer not to step into situations that require a big comfort zone jump, especially when one approach option seems much tougher than the other. Guys shy away from doing big groups of girls not only because they don't know how to handle them, but because they also have no clue how easy they are to handle.
2 sets are the standard "highest-level" situation for many guys, but let's see why this shouldn't be the case. A 2 set looks easy, it's only 2 girls to deal with, right? What most inexperienced guys do not understand is that in a 2 set, you MUST occupy BOTH girls at the same time. This means that you need to flirt with, or at least energetically converse with, the girl you are NOT interested in just as much as the girl you like. In other words, to successfully run a 2 set you must game 2 GIRLS AT 1 TIME. Regardless of how much your desired girl is into you, if her friend is NOT having a good time, THEY WILL BOTH LEAVE. If you are in a situation to pull, it makes it even MORE complicated because if you have no wing at all or no wing that the other girl actually likes, you will HAVE TO FIND a random man to do the job (who may come with his own group of friends to at least try taking what you have). All of this can be the recipe for a long, fruitless night/day.
Let's compare this to a 3 set and up. Many guys mistakenly believe that they must occupy the entire group for the entire time. Not the case. You will need to interact with them, but only in certain moments here and there. If you seem like a good-enough guy, they will actually LEAVE YOU ALONE TO TALK TO YOUR GIRL. Because the other girls have each other to keep company, if they like you, you're welcome to do your thing without worrying about the others having a good time. Same is the case with pulling. Whether you have a wing or not, you do not need to find a guy for the others. If your girl is down to go and you can negotiate the logistics of taking your girl home, IT'S DONE.
This little lesson, among the future lessons in this series, goes to show that the way things appear to be isn't always how they are. The sets you think and expect to be the easiest might actually cause you more trouble than ones you think to be difficult. That is why experience is king here, because with time and practice you learn the truth about what's actually going on.
